The New York Press has a lengthy article about Charles Schulz and his cartooning. If you’re a fan of Peanuts or enjoy reading about comic history, give this article a read. “Li’l Folks” has a different quality than “Peanuts.” The lines are thicker. Perhaps Schulz was making the best of middling reproduction quality in newspapers, […]

Newsday yesterday dismissed 72 employees from across the newspaper and announced that 40 additional vacant jobs will be eliminated. No “news gathering personnel” were affected by yesterday’s […]

Herriman’s Stumble Inn ran 10/30/1922-1/9/1926. For those of you who love Herriman’s artwork but consider Krazy Kat a little high-falutin’ for your tastes, […]

Cartoonists gather to push for legitimacy of cartoon art

An exhibit in Seattle is opening featuring the work of a small group of cartoonists who are pushing for the legitimacy of comic art. Cartoon artists have a long, proud history of pushing people’s buttons. Gary Larson once baffled and infuriated readers with a Far Side panel depicting odd objects in a field captioned “Cow […]
