Magic Bus

Gracie gets on the bus that takes her to school.

Too much the Magic Bus
Hector D. Cantú and Carlos Castellanos offer an alternative reality in this past week’s Baldo.
Reality Checking Reality Check

Reality Check misses it by thaaat much. In the real world Dave Whamond began his funny panel 30 years and 3 days ago – on April 2, 1995 according to Allan Holtz. I can’t find that Sunday page so here are the Monday April 3, 1995 and Wednesday April 5, 1995 entries:

John Hart Studio Crossover

I was honestly disappointed when the Dogs of C-Kennel didn’t get in on the action.
Gutter Snipped

There was a rash of multiple panel strips without the gutters a week ago. Wallace the Brave started it last Saturday, and then Rae the Doe and Dark Side of the Horse followed up on Monday bookending the weekend. (Not sure if that white stripe in Dark Side is on Cartoonist Samson or the colorist.)
Story Strips and One Offs

Heart of the City has an interesting story that started Monday about Dean feeling he has to defend himself against “being girly” because of his many friends who are not boys.

I’m having problems with Barney Google and Snuffy Smith being at the Comics Retirement Home as they are still active comic strip characters. I thought, other than visiting Walt and occasionally Skeezix, all the character were from newspaper comics that had been “retired.” Am I wrong?
More Questions

Is this Oona Goosepimple’s first appearance in Olivia Jaimes’ Nancy?

I consider a crossover when comic characters appear in each others’ strips (see John Hart Studio above). So The Prefesser appears in Pluggers and most of the characters in Shoe are pluggers – so crossover?
