The Society of Illustrators has revealed it class of inductees for their 2025 Hall of Fame. They are:

Rudy Gutierrez

Tim O’Brien

Tim O’Brien, Society of Illustrators 2025 Hall of Fame

This is the first year since 2011 without an inductee that has a direct connection to cartooning.

It is also the shortest list since 1994. The number of inductees in recent years average about seven.

Update. Apparently they are loading the inductees piecemeal and I got it before the list was completed.

  1. As to the other awards, David Plunkert‘s stuff can be considered cartooning. I guess it depends on whether or not they have word balloons or not.
