Glenn Marshall Reviews the Steven Appleby Exhibit
Skip to commentsGlenn Marshall took a guided tour through Steven Appleby‘s exhibit Nothing Is Real and writes up a review for Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation website.
He begins:
I escaped from reality for a couple of hours last week and entered the wonderful world of Steven Appleby at Space Station Sixty Five gallery where I went on a guided tour around the ‘Nothing Is Real’ exhibition. Steven has had many solo shows but this is the biggest to date and covers all aspects over such a long and varied career.
A couple of the examples of Steven’s art that I enjoyed. Check out Glenn’s review to see all of them.

Steven’s description of the exhibit:
Nothing is Real is about secrets, and things not being what they appear to be. It’s about what the next door neighbours are doing on the other side of the sitting room wall. It’s about private spaces and dark places behind closed curtains, beneath pavements, and down in
basements.
It’s about who – or what – your brother, sister, best friend and co-worker turn into when you’re
not looking. It’s about the meaning of life and the meaninglessness of life. It’s about this world we all
share that exists inside our minds – not out there all around us.
It’s about reality itself. It’s about nothing…
…and it’s about everything.
The exhibit opened October 2024 and runs through the end of March 2025.
