Dozens of Cartoonists (So Far) Stand With Ann Telnaes – Update
Skip to commentsEditorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes, late of The Washington Post, has written a note of gratitude for the support shown to her following her standing up to the WaPo’s staff trying to control her cartoon’s subject matter:
I wanted to say how much I appreciate and am sincerely touched by all your notes of support. Because I work on my own and the amount of correspondence received since Friday evening, I’m still wading through all the emails so please have patience with me. I am truly grateful for your encouraging words, the letters written to the Post which you’ve shared with me, and your articulate views about the state of our free press. Thank you also to my fellow substackers for their posts.
She also observes that, “My colleagues have been so supportive.”
They have indeed! Following the advice of Steve Brodner and the AAEC cartoonists around the world have done “a finished version of her rough and post[ed] it in solidarity with Ann.”
Below are some of the results.

Alexandra Bowman, JD Crowe, Natangelo, Kevin Necessary, Rod Emerson, Clay Jones, Tim Dolighan, John Buss, Ratt, David Cohen, Richard Bartholomew, Tim Campbell, and Lectrr.
That puts our list at over five dozen. Let us know who we’ve missed.
