A couple weeks ago we noted Deon Parson announcing his Rosebuds going into print syndication. Well after not hearing anything last week this week we got notice that six of Deon’s local CNHI Indiana/Illinois newspapers picked up the comic strip for their weekend editions.
The Goshen (Ind.) News; The Anderson (Ind.) Herald Bulletin; The Kokomo (Ind.) Tribune; and The Effingham (Ill.) Daily News were among the newspapers that served notice of picking up Parson’s Rosebuds this weekend. Unfortunately all the articles are behind paywalls. Though they seem to imply that this weekend is the first time the strip is available to them, so our September 1 debut for print may have to be moved back to September 8, 2024.
If today (below) was the debut it was a touching strip to introduce readers to the characters.
Though last week (above) was also a good introduction and featured all three of the star characters.
Strangely, while searching for a title panel, I noted that Rosebuds is not carried by all the Comics Kingdom digital platforms for newspaper websites. It is on The Oregonian’s though that variation means scrolling through all their comics to find Rosebuds. But other variants of the Comics Kingdom newspaper e-comics pages, like The Seattle Times and USA Today, where the comics are listed alphabetically, do not yet have Deon’s comic.
