The August 20 edition of the Gil Thorp comic featured characters attending a wrestling event at the Milford Convention Center, a scene that was introduced in the August 19 edition of the strip. Rhea Ripley was a performer featured at the event, prompting the characters to praise her for being the best.

Over the past couple of months, Ripley has continued to make a name for herself outside of the wrestling world, attracting casual or non-wrestling fans by going viral on social media platforms like TikTok.

  1. I’m so out of things that I just found out that the wrestler in the comic strip was a real person.

    I find it almost impossible to follow the story in Gil Thorp now, so I figured it was just one more new character.

    1. I hear ya. I haven’t been into pro wrestling since the days of Iron Mike Sharpe, Canada’s Greatest Athlete.
