After a troubled past, the comic strip not the character (well, maybe the character too), Alex Segura & Nickolej Villiger’s Mara Llave: Keeper of Time now will be released on a timely schedule. Or so it is now being promoted.
We’ve got some fantastic news to make your Sundays even brighter! Starting this week, our beloved comic Mara Llave: Keeper of Time is moving to a weekly schedule. Yes, you heard that right—now you can dive into Mara’s thrilling adventures every Sunday!
The strip began in 1984, moved to 1935, and is now taking place in 2070. But it was the creators’ timetable that was an early problem. The Comics Kingdom strip early on had problems with supplying new episodes. The creators were doing Mara Llave between actual paying projects that often interrupted this new less profitable on-line comic.
From twice weekly to twice monthly to monthly, with a few lengthy gaps in between, it was hard to keep up with the attractive strip. Now the promise of a weekly strip is greeted by readers with anticipation and some doubt about the schedule being maintained. Did King Features offer the creators a guaranteed stipend above the original contract to keep the strip punctual? Have the creators cleared their profitable assignments schedule enough to ensure this speculative project a regular timetable?
Stay tuned, and catch up with the time-traveling Mara Llave while it is still in its infancy.
