Volume 43, Number 2Winter 2024 The Scholarship of Comics: In Memoriam, David Kunzle (1936–2024)

The past several decades have witnessed an explosion of scholarship on comics, including monographs, thematic books, sociological studies, articles, essays, exhibitions, and reprints. Those efforts have unearthed much about the origins and development of the medium, and they are indebted to Kunzle’s groundbreaking work.

The Source, Notes in the History of Art from The University of Chicago Press has a new volume on the “Scholarship of Comics.” The issue is dedicated to the late David Kunzle and the Editor’s Note: Of Kunzle, Kids, and Komix is available gratis.

The San Diego Comic-Con will be held July 24 – 28, 2024 and the Special Guests are being announced.
