Jay Kalagayan New Executive Director of CXC
Skip to commentsEach fall since its founding in 2015, Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC) has convened the creators of leading comic strips, comic books and graphic novels in the capital city.
Cartoon Crossroads Columbus announced who will be the new head of their organization.
The organization said that Jay Kalagayan would become its second executive director.
Kalagayan will fill the void left following the death of Tom Spurgeon, who had served as CXC’s executive director from its inception until his death in November 2019. The 2020 and 2021 editions of CXC, which were either all or partly virtual, were overseen by an interim executive director, cartoonist Jerzy Drozd.
Jay Kalagayan, who, in addition to his longtime work in management and fundraising at nonprofit arts organizations, is also the creator of the comic book “MeSseD.”
The Columbus Dispatch reports on the news.
