The Ultimate Caniff Terry and the Pirates Collection

Milton Caniff’s Terry and the Pirates comic strip has been collected in a number of formats –
from Big Little Books to complete collections.

But now comes the last word for Terry and the Pirates in book form.

The Library of American Comics and Clover Press are proud to publish Terry and the Pirates: The Master Collection. Reproduced from Milton Caniff’s personal set of color syndicate tabloid proofs that were unavailable for previous books, this series is the ultimate edition of Caniff’s masterpiece. We present the Sundays in an unmatched color fidelity and larger than they have ever before been reprinted — an unparalleled upgrade that no Terry fan can afford to pass up.

A massive influence on the way comic strips were and are written and drawn, Milton Caniff’s
Terry and the Pirates is always numbered among the all-time Top Ten adventure strips.

In this definitive new edition, we present the Sundays in an unmatched color fidelity and larger than they have ever before been reprinted—an unparalleled upgrade that no Terry fan can afford to pass up.

Likewise, the Dailies are also presented much larger than in our previous editions and include their original episode titles!

The Library of American Comics and Clover Press
have collaborated on a project to drain your bank account.
But they are offering discounts this Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

  1. If I am not mistaken, these volumes reproduce the strips at the SAME size as in the 1980s NBM volumes. This is a more attractive format (although the NBM books are very good looking), but at pretty much the same size.

The chief extra attraction of the new books is the undoubtedly improved colour. But the NBM colour pages were shot from printed Sunday pages, and I like that look.

I subscribed to the NBM books when they were being published. This probably means I don’t really need these new ones. If I could afford them, I would probably buy them, but now being an old and ill “senior”, I can’t afford a box of toothpicks. But luckily, I can still read Terry any time I want.

But if you are Terry-less, do get these, high price and all! You really can’t live without them!
