“Tis the Season to be…Calendar Conscious

With Thanksgiving over and by now all your Christmas shopping done it’s time to start thinking about 2021 – and calendars. Certainly many people are thinking about next year, about half the best sellers on the Amazon comic strip book list are calendars at the moment. The Far Side has two in the Top Ten!

Over at Amazon’s Best Selling Humor Calendar list we get strictly the calendars,
where Dilbert and The New Yorker join The Far Side among the popular choices.

Y’all seem to favor desk day-to-day calendars, while I’m partial to the traditional wall calendars.

Though there doesn’t seem to be a Rube Goldberg calendar for 2021.

Andrews McMeel is a major publisher of comic strip related calendars (disclosure: Andrew McMeel Publishing and The Daily Cartoonist play for the same team). The items on their page show, along with the funny stuff, comic art and even, to me, a surprise offering.

Some cartoonists (hi Keith, hi Drew) have calendars of their own making.

All in all, another way to support your favorite cartoonist or comic.

  1. Is there a Get Fuzzy 2021 calendar despite the Darby Conley strip now still in most newspapers in 100% daily/Sunday rerun mode?

  2. A Breaking Cat News Instagram post says a calendar is expected to be out sometime next week on their Zazzle site.
