Prince Valiant Title Panels 2014 – 2020

In 2014 Thomas Yeates, the artist of the Prince Valiant comic strip, began the practice of including title panels to remedy some artistic problems with the layout of the strip. These title panels, which change as the next adventure begins, are exclusive to the Sunday sections that print the strip (a practice I heartily endorse). For those who only read the strip online via Comics Kingdom here are the title panels to date.

note: the names applied to the panels are my invention and not official

  1. Why oh why doesn’t Comics Kingdom show us these? Sigh…

  2. So this is what, reason 742 to hate how the CK website works?
I would not have believed it was possible to make the task of “showing comics” look so difficult.

  3. As I mentioned above, I think giving the paying customers (newspapers) a bonus is a good idea and have no objection to printed Sunday Funnies getting this premium. I also wouldn’t object to subscribers to Comics Kingdom getting this small
    extra favor (they don’t).
But let’s be clear, it is not only Comics Kingdom. The Sunday Luann has a, often very clever, title panel that changes EVERY WEEK that we (and paid subscribers) never see on GoComics.
I remember, in years past, having to search for that and finally giving up.
