Schulz Museum to Host ‘Exploring Intersectional Identities through Queer Comics’ Discussion
Skip to commentsThe Charles M. Schulz Museum is hosting a July 27th virtual discussion with cartoonists on “how their work explores marginalized identities and self-discovery.” Participants include Maia Kobabe, Ajuan Mance, and Bishakh Som.
Maia Kobabe: Kobabe’s autobiography, Gender Queer, is a 2020 ALA Alex Award winner and Stonewall-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award Honor Book.
Ajuan Mance: Mance is a professor of African American literature at Mills College, creates comics and zines including Gender Studies; The Little Book of Big, Black Bears; A Blues for Black Santa; and the 1001 Black Men series.
Bishakh Som: Has a new book out entitiled Aspara Engine. It is a collection of short stories exploring the idiosyncrasies of gender.
The panel will be moderated by Cartoon Art Museum’s program coordinator, Nina Taylor Kester.
