  1. I have followed Michael Ramirez’s cartoons for several years now. His drawings are always topic relevant, detailed and spot on. I even had the opportunity once to sit by his side and watch him work from an idea’s inception, to a rough drawing, a finished drawing and a colorization. His work goes far beyond that of “just a cartoon”. He dedicates his work to the idea he is trying to display and he continues to tweak it until every last detail meets the story or idea that he is trying to get across. He is the Michelangelo of cartoonist because his drawings are nor merely lines, they are almost 3-D in appearance and seem to say, “Look at me! I have something important to say!” He’s that good.
