Calvin and Hobbes Wall Art, Posters, Prints, more

Etsy is selling all kinds of decorative Calvin and Hobbes art for home and office.

Book Riot shows the objets d’art with links to the Etsy pages.

This seems like a lot of material from a man notorious for keeping the
licensing of his creation down to books, a couple of calendars, and a few prints.

No copyright notices. Is this legit?

  1. No, it’s a clear and complete violation of copyright.

However, because Watterson has never defended his copyright in court — vigorously or otherwise — a judge might dismiss the case. Something about failure to establish your claim in the past undercuts your argument to do so in the future.
