A disaster half a world away has lead Patrick McDonnell to replace a week of Mutts.

The strips were replaced at artist’s request for Mutts dallies for the week of January 20, 2020. The original week had a lighthearted theme where Mooch meets wildlife down under. With the ongoing tragic wildfires in Australia and loss of nearly a half billion animals as a result, those strips were deemed inappropriate at this time.
On occasion calamity in the real world makes some comic strips unsuitable as planned.
