More Cartoonists Saying Goodbye

Today Channing Miller said goodbye to The Daily Texan:

After six semesters, six comics editors, three different job descriptions and four sketchbooks, it is finally time for me to say goodbye to my beloved corner of the basement.

This corner isn’t just a place where I have sat with aching knuckles and a sketchbook in my lap. This was where I came up with “Typically Atypical” as the name of my comic strip. I developed and changed my art style so many times as I was constantly inspired by the different kinds of talent that graced that corner. I spent 4 1/2 hours there putting the page together for the first time on my first night as editor.

Read comics editor Channing’s farewell message.

Channing created a final Typically Atypical comic strip:

In her parting message Channing mentioned, among others, Lauren Ibanez:

Lauren, thank you for completing this last round with me. You are my best friend and the memories we made in our little corner will be something I cherish for a lifetime.

Lauren also created a closing strip, though not an official Zoophobia strip:

The Daily Texan maintains an archive of Channing Miller cartoons.

There is also a Lauren Ibanez archive at The Daily Texan.

Here’s the entire Daily Texan comics archive.

  1. No goodbye from Darby Conley and his 100% daily/Sunday rerun mode as of April 2019 Get Fuzzy strip as of yet?

  2. WTF is your obsession with Get Fuzzy? There are tens of other comics in reruns but do you obsessively bring them UP every time another comic ends? Get a life.
