Not a Made Utah Politician Until Bagley Draws

To be recognized in Utah politics one needs to appear in a Pat Bagley cartoon.

For a Utah politician, there might be no higher honor than being mocked in a Pat Bagley cartoon.

“If you’re the subject of a Bagley cartoon, you must be doing something right,” said former Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Republican who represented Utah’s 3rd District from 2009 to 2017, and now is a contributor to Fox News.

Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski said, “You know you’ve made it if you have a Bagley.”

The Salt Lake Tribune asks local and federal Utah representatives about Pat’s cartoons.

While quite a few local, state, and Federal politicians responded…

(Sen. Mike Lee’s spokesman swiftly declined a request for comment. Requests to Sen. Mitt Romney and Reps. Rob Bishop, John Curtis and Chris Stewart went unanswered. Gov. Gary Herbert’s staff did not follow up on a request for comment.)
