For an upcoming edition of the Inquirer’s Currents section, the paper’s Sunday opinion pages, we’re dedicating three full pages to editorial/political cartoons …
… We’re interested in cartoons inspired by local Philadelphia news …
Cartoons can be either multi-panel or single panel. Our only strict criteria is that your cartoon highlights an opinion on a topical news issue. The cartoons will run in black and white in the Inquirer and in color on Inquirer.com.
Details at The Philadelphia Inquirer.
As the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists says:
Granted, this is a one-off, but still—the Inquirer has a long history of supporting cartoonists (Tony Auth drew for them for 41 years), and this is a paying gig. During a year when publishers and chains have aggressively turned on their own cartoonists, this is a grand gesture.
