Comic strips

Comic Culture with John Rose and Barney Google

As the 100th anniversary of the Barney Google and Snuffy Smith comic strip nears
cartoonist John Rose is interviewed about the strip.

John, only the third signed cartoonist in the strip’s 100 year history, talks about how the strip started and changed, Uncle Fred Lasswell, his time and efforts on the strip (while he continues to do the strip with pen and paper I was surprised that he also colors the Sundays the old-fashioned way – with markers and color guides), and informs that the coming 100th celebration will run “a little over two weeks” (with the anniversary less than twenty days away the celebratory strips should start soon).

It’s a video interview and posted on YouTube.
