Keith Knight on Pundits’ Responsibilities
Skip to commentsBumped up to the top as a reminder of Keith Knight’s current strips.
original July 10 post:
Three days before the Capital Gazette shooting Milo Yiannopoulos texted that he “can’t wait for the vigilante squads to start gunning journalists.” Bill O’Reilly, after years of debasing George Tiller as “Tiller the Baby Killer,” disavowed any culpalbility in the doctor’s murder. Bill Maher once said, “I’m just saying if he [Dick Cheney] did die, other people, more people would live.” Dan Savage wished that Republicans “were all f**kin’ dead.”
Keith Knight has had enough of it.
Today’s political punditry is what “professional” wrestling was back in the day. Purely for entertainment purposes. Unfortunately, a lot of folks still take it seriously, and the pundits know it. So when they suggest that journalists should be shot, they know they have listeners that just might do it. But they will always pull the “just joking” card.
At the end of this week (July 13 and 14) Keith, using his comic strip The Knight Life, will take on the commentators.
