Phil Frank Statues Set to be Unveiled

The SF Gate is reporting that legendary Bay Area cartoonist Phil Frank (1943 – 2007) will be commemorated in two bronze statues. Frank was the cartoonist of the long-running San Francisco Chronicle comic “Travels with Farley” and the syndicated comic “The Elderberries” with Joe Troise.

From the story:

He also would have made light of the fuss being made over him with this statuary. “Phil would have been honored,” Susan Frank said with a laugh. “But he would have thought this is more than what needed to be done.”
