  6. We should honor the religious tradition of our Christian forebears, who brought forth on this continent a colony of worshipful Puritans who banned the celebration of Christmas and fined anyone who took off work or otherwise noted the occasion.

    Yes, you can look it up. Wishing someone a Merry Christmas is an affront to our religious heritage.

    But the good news is, the Puritans were also bigots, so we’ve at least got that part covered.
