Marmaduke creator Brad Anderson passes at age 91

From the New York Times:

Bradley Jay Anderson was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on May 14, 1924. He drew cartoons while growing up and attended Syracuse University on the G.I. bill after serving in the Navy during World War II. He graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree in advertising in 1951.

Mr. Anderson supported himself mainly by drawing editorial cartoons before ?Marmaduke? reached widespread syndication. The comic was the basis for a 2010 live-action film, also called ?Marmaduke,? directed by Tom Dey and starring Owen Wilson as the voice of the Great Dane. The reviews were mostly negative.

My condolences to his family and friends.
