It’s incredibly cool that I get to talk to artists and writers like I do, so this time, it’s four times as cool! Lucas Turnbloom and I took a little road trip up to Los Angeles to witness the “Drawn Together” event that featured four of the biggest names in kids’ literature, Jeff Kinney (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid”), Dav Pilkey (“Captain Underpants”), Stephan Pastis (“Timmy Failure”), and Lincoln Peirce (“Big Nate”). In front of about 1,500 of their biggest fans, these four guys delivered positive messages about reading and cartooning, and helped Access Books to raise money to get books into inner city Los Angeles schools.
