This Saturday night is the annual National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben Awards weekend where one (maybe two?) people not named Stephan Pastis will be crowned Cartoonist of the Year. On Friday, King Features Syndicate will host a special panel celebrating 100 years of comic strips. The event is free to the public at 11 am at the Library of Congress?s Madison Building. Paneling the discussion will be KFS’s comics editor Brendan Burford. Panelists include Patrick McDonnell (Mutts), Brian Walker (Hi and Lois), Jeff Keane (The Family Circus), Hilary Price (Rhymes with Orange), Ray Billingsley (Curtis), and editorial cartoonist and Mother Goose and Grimm creator Mike Peters.
