The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemns Texas shooting attempt

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest Islamic organization in the U.S., released a statement condemning the attempted shooting attack in Garland TX and made it very clear that it considered the event, the event organizers and leadership to be a hate-group against Islam.

“We condemn yesterday’s attack on an anti-Islam event in Garland, Texas, without reservation.

“We also reiterate our view that violence in response to anti-Islam programs like the one in Garland is more insulting to our faith than any cartoon, however defamatory. Bigoted speech can never be an excuse for violence.
