Short interview with Alison Bechdel on cartooning, her work and being a MacArthur Fellow recipient. Also something I’ve never seen before – she writes and “draws” as she goes along using what looks like Photoshop. The drawings, during the writing process, are nothing more than images grabbed off the Internet as placeholders until she draws the real thing. That feels time intensive to me – looking for various images as place holders. I’d think a scribble drawing would be faster.
