You’ve seen them on Facebook or even participated yourself – the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS wherein if challenged, you dump a bucket of ice water over your head and challenge three others to do the same within 24 hours as well as donate money to ALS Association.
Yesterday, Nick Galifianakis threw down the challenge to Richard Thompson, Stephan Pastis and Bill Watterson (click image above to see Nick’s video). Given Bill’s reclusive nature, Nick nominated Watterson editor and friend Lee Salem as the “stunt double”. Bill can still donate money, but Lee takes the ice water shower.
Video went up yesterday, we should know today how each of those cartoonists will respond.
Update: Richard Thompson has posted on Facebook that due to his recovery from an illness, he’s going to take the money option rather than dump cold water on himself. He’s now nominated John Glynn, Shena Wolf and Mo Willems.
