The late night comedians took up the announced death of Archie.

David Letterman used the announced (“What’s next? Dagwood Bumstead chokes on one of those sandwiches?”) to offer the “Top Ten Memorable Moments In Comic Strip History”.

Crowd did not react well to the Beetle Bailey joke.
