Comic strips

Thank you to GoComics; Go check out Wumo

Much thanks goes out to Universal Uclick for sponsoring The Daily Cartoonist for a second week and for giving me a chance to plug one of my long-time favorite strips Wumo. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to check out their strip, head over to GoComics.com. You can also find them on the GoComics app that is available on Windows, Android and iOS.

I think I found Wumo in 2003-ish. The feature launched in 2001. The feature was called Wulffmorgenthaler back then (a title derived from the co-creator’s, Mikael Wulff and Anders Morgenthaler, last names). The humor was off-the-wall, absurd, and generally inappropriate for American newspapers. The feature has a more universal humor now and less than a year since Universal Uclick has been syndicating it here domestically, editors have jumped on the new Wumo – over 300 papers in fact. In this economic/newspaper climate, that’s a huge number.

I’m also excited to hear that Mikael and Anders are also spending time in Los Angeles, developing features for film and television. As a stand-up comedian (Mikael) and filmmaker (Anders), I’m anxious to find out what they’re up to.
