David Silverman, who directed The Simpson’s Movie and co-directed Monsters Inc., is working on a live-action/animated hybrid feature film of the Pink Panther character. Since the Pink Panther was introduced in 1963, most of the movies have been live-action films centered on Inspector Clouseau with references to a pink diamond nicknamed “The Pink Panther”. Most of those movies began with an animated short featuring the Pink Panther character. The announcement indicates this new movie will feature the Pink Panther as a central character.
The cartoons are fun, but for the movie the key to the good ones was Peter Sellers. It may be hard to top that.
