AAEC announces dates for 2014 convention in San Francisco

The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists has announced the date for this year’s convention/festival in San Francisco, CA. AAEC President (and convention host) Mark Fiore is branding the convention as Satire Fest (same acronym as San Francisco) to build public interest and promotion. Most of the events will be open to the public. Expect sessions of interest for political cartoonists, animators, web comics, techies and “other assorted oddballs.”

The convention runs October 9-11. The selected hotel is the King George Hotel one block from Union Square. Being San Francisco’s “off season” and with the AAEC member discount rate, rooms are only $131.53/night. Look for the next Notebook edition for details. The week of the convention also coincides with Fleet Week featuring the U.S Navy Blue Angels.
