Jeff Pert passes away at age 55

Mike Lynch reports that Jeff Pert, who was a frequent participant in the comments here, has died from a massive heart attack. He was only 55.

Jeff was an award-winning cartoonist in Maine who did a lot of cartoons and merchandise for New England tourists. He also did two years with DreamWorks animation in the 1990’s as an animation archivist. He had one book (featured below) entitled, “How’s the Water, Bob?“. There will be a celebration of his life this Thursday. Funeral home visitations will be held this Wednesday in Bath, ME. You can read his obituary here.

My condolences to his family and friends. He’ll be missed here in the comments as well.

  3. I met Jeff briefly at the Maine Comics Arts Festival a few years back. He made neat comics and seemed like a really nice guy. 55 is WAY too young.

  4. I remember seeing Jeff’s cartoons in DownEast magazine (The Magazine of Maine). They always made me laugh. RIP Jeff.
