It’s been teased before when The Complete Cul de Sac book was announced, but now it’s official. The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum will host two exhibits of original work by Richard Thompson and Bill Watterson. The exhibit opens March 22 (with an opening reception on March 21) and continues through August 3. Bill’s exhibit will also include original art by cartoonists who influenced him such as Charles Schulz, George Herriman, Jim Borgman, Berkeley Breathed, Garry Trudeau, and Ralph Steadman. Richard’s exhibit will include his masterful hand-watercolored Sunday originals, black and white dailies, caricatures, gags and editorial cartoons.

I was wondering when to make the two hour drive down to Columbus and finally visit the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. March 22 looks pretty darn good. Can’t wait to see the art of both of these amazing cartoonists in person. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to come.
Sounds pretty cool.
If you are a Cul de Sac fan you will enjoy this tremendously. If you are not familiar with Richards other work, then you are in for a treat.
This will just wet you appetite for the Art of Richard Thompson book due out later this year.
See you there!
