Happy holidays to my readers

As I usually do, I’m taking the last week of the year off for the holidays. I’ll be back at the helm January 2.

To each of you, I wish you happy holidays and new year!

  1. Merry Christmas to you too! Thanks for a great site. I enjoy it so much.

  2. Thank you everyone. Enjoy the last moments of 2013!

  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

A Lil’ Batty Fun Fact – In Vulgaria, the meal for New Year’s Day consists of Vulgarian Sausage, Oysters and Spinach. This is referred to as the S.O.S. Meal.
    .
Similar to our own customary superstition, the Vulgarian Sausage is eaten for Health, the Oysters are eaten for Wealth, and the Spinach is eaten for good luck. One would think the Spinach would be eaten for Wealth since it is green, but Vulgarian money is only minted in coins. They do not use paper currency.
    .
Also, One would think that Oysters would be for health. Oysters are not in season at this time of year. The ones that are consumed are usually bad and make the Vulgarians deathly ill. So, it is believed that Vulgaria is such a poor country because the Oysters represent Wealth and so few are available at this time of year.
    .
Again HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! 2014 will be the Year of the Batty!!!!
