Fox picks Seth MacFarlane, MacFarlane picks Lalo Alcaraz

The Fox network has picked up a new show called Bordertown by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. MacFarlane has tapped comic strip creator La Cucaracha Lalo Alcaraz to be one of the writers. Lalo tweets that he’s already had his first day as a writer.

From the Deadline Hollywood:

Set in a fictitious desert town near the U.S.-Mexico border, Bordertown centers on the intertwining daily lives of neighbors Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzales. Bud, a married father of three, is a Border Patrol agent who feels threatened by the cultural changes that have transformed his neighborhood. Living next door is Ernesto, an industrious Mexican immigrant and father of four, who is proud to be making it in America.

  1. Great. Tons of low-brow racist humor. Can’t wait!!!

  2. Hmmmm…normally MacFarlane just steals comic strip ideas and characters for his stuff. At least this time he hired one.

  3. La Cucaracha is the only newspaper comic I keep up with (via the web) I hope he’s not tarnished by the stink I get from Seth’s previous work

  4. That’s quite an honor. Congrats Lalo.

  5. Wow, what a breakthrough! Another leftist strip!
