Profiled: Joe Sacco on his work covering wars

I enjoyed this interview by Jessica Salter in The Telegraph with comics journalist Joe Sacco.

Regarding covering war:

I?m really tired of drawing war. I?m really tired of drawing the AK-47. I still want to do journalism and I?m still interested in the subject of war, but I don?t want to report from war any more. War journalism tries to give you an insight into what?s happening now. At some point I started to think, ?Why is this always going on? What good is it to see this going on in country X when I just saw it going on in country Y?? Because ultimately, although every situation is different, on some levels it?s the same. What began to interest me more was the question of human nature.
