Chris Sparks wins humanitarian award at SD Comic Con

Chris Sparks, the leader of Team Cul de Sac, was nominated for four Eisner awards at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, but he walked away with one that he wasn’t even nominated for. He was awarded the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award for his anthology “Team Cul de Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson?s” that featured artwork by over 100 artists. The proceeds from the book as well as the auction of the original art featured in the book went toward the Michael J. Fox Foundation to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.

Michael Cavna was there and got Chris’s initial reaction.

Congratulations Chris!

Correction: Chris was nominated for four Harvey Awards. His book was nominated for one Eisner Award.
