Keane statue project in jeopardy

The fundraising efforts to create a statue to honor the late Bil Keane is running short with an end of April deadline. According to an article in the Arizona Republic, the town of Paradise Valley says it still needs $23,000 or the project will be canceled or the date to have it dedicated will have to be pushed back.

The planned statue is 9- by–7-foot and depicts Bil on all fours with his four child characters on his back.

$23,000 is a doable amount for most Kickstarter projects with decent incentives.

  1. Kickstarter was my thought too, Alan. Especially to reach the wider fan base.
