  1. I have to admit that I was blindsided by the popularity of my project. My most optimistic projections put it at $20k, and we’d do maybe three coins.

This is what Kickstarter is for — identifying demand. Whether your project fails to fund, or over-funds, you’ve learned something about the audience you were able to bring to the project, and you’ve done so with much less risk than if you’d opened pre-orders conventionally and started collecting people’s money.

  3. Congratulations to all! A great accomplishment.

That’s not a great headline though, Alan. #1 it should be “more than” instead of “over” and #2 it reads like they’ve each raised $1 million vs. cumulative.

Might I suggest, “More than one million dollars raised by webcomics kickstarter projects”

  4. And I admit that’s not perfect either.

  5. I’d say webcomics are indeed a viable alternative comics job!
