Stephan Pastis storms Salt Lake City

Last night, Pearls Before Swine creator Stephan Pastis came to Salt Lake City on his book tour for his new book Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made. The Salt Lake Tribute gave him a nice write-up which helped pack the local library where Tribune editorial cartoonist Pat Bagley offered a cartoonist’s introduction before Stephan gave a reading of his book and took questions from the crowd.

Then came the book signing. Two lines wrapping.

The local cartoonists (and writer) met up afterward to show Stephan the bar scene in Salt Lake City. We hit four bars – five if you count the one we hit one twice.

  1. Sweet pictures, Alan! The lines for Stephan are amazing, aren’t they? In DC, it was 4 hours.

The barhopping sounds like fun too.

  2. What I like about the top photo is the age range of Pastis fans – young, middle-age, oldish. That’s the mark of a darn good comic strip, not to mention a highly successful one.
