Paul Jon Boscacci takes on cancer with Fort Knox

Paul Jon Boscacci, creator of Fort Knox, will start an ongoing story-line on the topic of prostate beginning next Monday.

General Wickum, Commander at Fort Lincoln and main character Joe Knox’s CO, will reveal his illness on November 12. He will receive treatment over the next several months with the Knox family (including the General’s love-interest and Joe’s mother, Pearl Knox) helping him, according to the cartoonist.

The topic is personal one for Paul. His father battled prostate cancer a few years ago.

  1. How many newspapers carry the Fort Knox comic strip?

The Washington Post I think carried it for its first couple of months after the strips 2009 or 2010 launch.
