Profiled: Mark Tatulli and new Lio book

South Jersey Times profiles Lio creator Mark Tatulli and his upcoming book, “Lio: There’s a Monster in My Socks

“I actually created Lio for adults because I knew there weren’t that many kids reading the newspaper anymore, so I wrote it as a throwback for our generation,” he said. “But then I found out that I had a huge amount of younger readers.”

  1. Even though Mr. Tatulli is a mean cartoonist who often picks on other comic strips, I will be buying this book, just as I’ve bought all his others, because I love “Lio.” Maybe when he’s rich and famous (from selling all these reprint books), he’ll quit picking on legacy strips.

  2. The so-called Legacy strips don’t care what I do…they laugh all the way to the bank!

And I “pick on them” because I love them! Kinda like the little girl on the play ground who gives a charlie horse to the boy of her dreams.

And I thank you as always for your support, Mr. Read!
