Joe Wos attempts to create world record for largest hand-drawn maze

ToonSeum founder Joe Wos is attempting to establish a Guinness World Record for the largest hand-drawn maze. When completed the maze will measure over 4 feet high by 30 feet long. The fully solvable maze is filled with cartoon illustrations.

From the press release:

The inception for the project began a few years ago when Joe turned 40. Looking to complete some of his life long goals he realized his cartoonist physique would likely preclude him from setting any endurance or sports records for the Guinness Book of World Records. It was then he decided to approach them with a new record for his maze making.
The creation of the maze began at Geppi’s Entertainment Museum in Baltimore Maryland, and has continued at the ToonSeum in Pittsburgh.

“Mazes are one of the oldest forms of interactive art.” Said Joe, “For me the maze will not be finished until someone has solved it, and that may be the most difficult part of the whole project.”

One person will have the opportunity to solve the puzzle. There is a Indiegogo campaign to raise $5,000 to allow the maze to travel on a world wide tour and showcase it at cartoon and children’s museums. The final maze will be unveiled at the ToonSeum on November 10.
