Moroccan cartoonist interrogated for caricature that insulted Islam

Moroccan cartoonist Khalid Gueddar was detained by police for over six hours and questioned about a caricature he posted on his website that they allege is a insult to Islam. The cartoon in question is actually a re-published cartoon that he drew last year depicting someone tossing lingerie from a minaret.

He was arrested in 2009 for a similar incident involving a caricature of the king’s cousin. According to an AP story, that incident resulted in a suspended sentence and a fine of $362,000.
