Interviewed: Wiley Miller talks Non Sequitur’s 20 years

Tom Racine interviews Wiley Miller about his comic strip Non Sequitur which celebrates 20 years in syndication.

From Tom’s Tall Tale Radio Podcast:

Wiley Miller of the brilliant “Non Sequitur” joins me to talk about the fact that his comic just turned 20 years old! He’s been in syndication since 1992, and has seen a lot happen since then. Wiley is never shy to talk about anything controversial, and I have a blast talking about his editorial past, his first foray into syndicated comics with “Fenton” back in 1982, and the state of the industry now. And we go off on the recent New York Times editorial brouhaha, and I think he has some very interesting points to make about both sides of the issue!

  1. Great advice on following the pull of the Universe. And very interesting points, indeed, about the NYT.

  2. Congrats, Wiley on the 20-year run, quite an achievement!

  3. MR, MILLER. AWHILE BACK i SAW A CARTOON IN A MAG OF
TWO HUNTERS WATCHING A BEAR GOING INTO AN OUT-
HOUSE IN THE WOODS SO THAT PROVED THE BEAR IN THE WOODS SO CALLED MYTH. SINCE THAT DAY I HAVE COLLECTED EVERY ONE OF YOUR DRAWINGS AFTER GETTING OVER MY HYSTERICS. I’m an amateur and during my years in construction drawing the foibles of the goofy
plumbers carpenters etcetera, etcetera, etc etc.has almost
caused me a date with the guilotine. I’m 90 years old and I still dabble in it. So Mr Mr Miller dont quit drawing for I know not
how much time I have left. I want to die with a smile on my face
holding one of your cartoons in my hand.
