Cartoons

Vincent Faletti, age 95, reintroduced to his own work

A cool story from The Saginaw News about the city’s historian coming upon cartoons by Vincent Faletti in the city library archives and decided to learn more about the cartoonist who did a strip called “Saga of Saginaw.” Turns out Vincent is still alive, 95 years old. A collection was made his work and presented to the retired cartoonist.

A crisply-dressed Faletti, wearing a collared shirt beneath a striped zip-neck sweater, sat in his recliner, smiling while flipping through his cartoons for the first time in years.

“That really makes me feel old,” he says, eyeing the yellowed “Saga of Saginaw” newspaper clippings and others. “That’s a long time ago.”

  1. He’s very clever. Love the cartoons with no or very little words.
