MAD Mag cartoonists to descend on SCAD

I mentioned this before, but now I’ve received the official press release. On November 12 the Savanna College of Art and Design and the Southeast Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society will present a panel discussion entitled, “A SCAD, MAD, MAD, MAD Discussion” featuring famed MAD Magazine cartoonists: Jack Davis, Al Jaffee, Paul Coker, Jr., Nick Meglin, ‘Duck’ Edwing, Sergio Aragones, Sam Viviano and Tom Richmond. The event is free and open to the public.

Here’s the date, time and place: Nov. 12 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St., Savannah, Georgia.

The group will also be conducting portfolio reviews for students of SCAD.

  1. I picked the wrong month to be not in Savannah!

  2. My daughter goes to school there. Hope she doesn’t miss this.

  3. I keep looking at that list and thinking of the old Sesame Street game: “One of these things is not like the other, one of these things does not belong…”

  4. Tom, you should speak nicer of Sam! He gives you so much work!

  5. Ok, just knowing how these things get blown out of proportion, I was just kidding. Tom’s absolutely right, he’s the one that doesn’t belong.

  6. Seven short pudgy wrinkly grandpas and one tall extra-muscly Ken doll – yeah, Tom stands out a bit!
